Keeping it Basic

Keeping it Basic

When I’m scrolling through Pinterest, one of my favorite things to look at are the everyday fashion looks from various bloggers. Of course I love seeing high-class dresses and more elaborate styles as well, but it’s the everyday looks that I usually end up drawing the most inspiration from. They’re the ones that are most practical for me to apply to my current wardrobe and transfer over to my usual outfit rotations. So today I wanted to share a super basic spring outfit that can be easily replicated with items you probably already have in your closet.

First, pick out your favorite pair of distressed denim. Whether they only have two holes in the knees or are ripped all over (like the ones I’m wearing), distressed jeans help elevate your style to the next level. I love that theses ones are also cut off at the bottom, because it makes them easy to pair shoes with too. The next piece to this look is just a simple black sweater. I chose one with a turtleneck and 3/4 length sleeves because I tend to only be outside in the mornings and evenings when it’s a bit chillier. The loose fit of this sweater also makes it easy to tuck in the front, allowing me to showcase my jeans better. The last thing you need is a fun pair of sneakers. I love wearing my pink suede Vans with this outfit because it adds a subtle pop of color. Plus, they’re just so comfy and cute! If you want to make this look a bit more casual, you could pair it with some converse instead. Or to take the look from day to night, swap your sneakers for a cute pair of pumps and you’ll be ready for a night out!

I love this style because it is seriously so simple, yet I frequently get asked how I manage to always look put together. The key is filling your wardrobe with comfy, neutral pieces like these that can easily be mixed and matched. That way you can still wake up in the morning and “throw on” an outfit, but it will look like you put in a lot more effort. Add a pair of sunglasses to hide yesterday’s eye makeup and you’re good to go! 😉

Let me know what you think in the comments, and tell me what your everyday style is!
