The great thing about winter in southern California is that the temperature never truly drops below 50 degrees, which means that all my cold-weather attire is more like fall (or even spring) style for everyone else. Last weekend I had a mini weekend-getaway to San Diego, where I spent the days exploring the lovely shops and cafés of La Jolla. I was dying to wear my new over-the-knee boots that I received for Christmas, so I specifically chose an outfit where I could show them off. I paired them with a suede camel skirt so that the shoes would stand out against my legs. I chose to keep the rest of the outfit all neutral so that the look wouldn’t seem too flashy. And I opted for a black faux-leather jacket and my burgundy floppy hat to give the outfit some extra texture.
I loved this look because it was super easy to throw together, but looked so stylish on! I got lots of compliments, which always makes you feel nice :). It was the perfect weekend outfit that could easily transition from day to night. Plus, I had owned most of the pieces for quite some time now, which meant that I could utilize what was already in my closet to put it together! I’m all about reusable pieces, especially on a college budget!
