One of the best perks of studying abroad is all the extra traveling you get to experience in your host country. I have trips planned for the next five weeks that I’m SUPER excited to share with you, so I thought I’d start by showcasing my must-have skincare minis that I take with me when I’m traveling light.
The first product I’m always sure to take is my Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream. This stuff works wonders for dark under eye circles and is perfect for those jet-lagged mornings when you’re still recovering from traveling the day before. It brightens and depuffs exactly like it claims, leaving my eyes looking awake, refreshed, and ready to start the day.
In addition to a good eye cream, it’s always best to have a strong moisturizer as well, as your skin can easily look dry and dull from traveling (at least mine always does). There are two that I regularly rotate between, depending on the trip, but all of them work wonderfully. The first is another Origins GinZing product: The Energy-Boosting Moisturizer. Like the eye cream, it really provides a brightening and hydrating boost to the skin helping it look much healthier and awake. I also find that this works great to keep my skin feeling hydrated if I’m going to be in the sun all day. My second go-to moisturizer is belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb. I usually apply it before my makeup in the morning as it feels incredibly light on the skin but packs a punch of moisture that lasts all day. And I especially love this one because it’s oil free and dermatologist tested so it’s perfect for my sensitive, blemish-prone skin.
My next go to product is the Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation. I received this in my Sephora box and it has been an absolute favorite of mine since! It’s a light weight, oil-free cream that works to even your skin tone and fade discoloration from redness or sun damage. I usually apply it in the morning after my moisturizer and before my makeup so I have a strong, even base to apply my foundation on. Once my travel-sized jar is used up I will definitely have to buy the full-size version, because it just does wonders for my skin and is now a staple part of my routine! If you have an uneven skin tone, give this a shot for a few weeks and you will be very pleased with the results.
The last of my travel skin care routine includes the Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral-enriched Renewal Cream (whew, that’s a mouthful!). This is the only one I use at night, mostly because it’s the only one I feel I need! It’s an all-in-one night cream that really works hard during the night to recover your skin so you wake up in the morning looking healthy and fresh once more. It’s infused with Vitamins C, E, and H which help repair your skin while you sleep, and I’ve found that I wake up with softer, brighter skin every time I use it. Plus a little goes a long way, so this travel size bottle has lasted me quite a while!
Now if you want to purchase these for yourself, you have a few options! Luckily, everything I mentioned is available in stock at Sephora in-store or online. The Belif and Ole Henriksen products unfortunately only come in full-size versions (I received the minis in my Sephora Play! box), but they’re both great products and I’ve certainly loved them, so I don’t think you’d go wrong with the full-size bottles. The Origins products mentioned are available as individual full-size products, or you have the option of purchasing the Origins Bestsellers kit which includes the travel-size version of every product I mentioned PLUS the Original Skin Renewal Serum, the Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask, and the Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash. So if you’re a bit unsure on whether you want to pay full price and invest in the whole product yet, and you’d rather give them a try yourself first, then this is definitely the way to go!
If you’re looking for how to update your travel skin care routine, I hope this post helped give you a few suggestions! And if you have any recommendations of other products for me to try, I’d love to read them in the comments :).
