Hello 2016

I truly can’t believe that it is already 2016. It seems like every year I find myself surprised with how fast the previous one went. Normally I would spend today reflecting over the year past, with all its ups and downs, and deciding how to make this year a better one than the last. But as I sat down, ready to review, I decided that I didn’t really want to look into the past. It felt good for 2015 to be leaving, right somehow. And I decided that I would move forward in life without taking another look back.

As far New Years Resolutions are concerned, while I still would like to work towards some of the small goals I set for myself in the past, I don’t think that I will be making any new ones to add to the list this year.

It’s a bit hard to put into words, but something about this year feels different than years past. Like all years, it is brimming with the potential to bring even more joy and happiness than before, but it also feels like something more than that too. I can’t quite put my finger on the mystery and magic of it what’s to come this year. Just that something seems to be there, waiting, ready to be uncovered at the perfect moment this year with something new and exciting and surprising.

I’m sure this all probably sounds strange, but I just have this feeling about this year that I can’t shake that leads me to believe it is going to be full of wonderful surprises. Regardless of whether my feeling is real, or just my own anticipation for something better, I’m very excited for whatever 2016 has in store for me!

What are your resolutions for the new year?

This is a quote from my new Yoga instructor. I thought It was a new way of looking at resolutions. I think I am going to try it. “My Qigong master taught me this simple three word guide. Good, Better, Best. No pressure to be perfect. So this year I am declaring a Resolution Revolution. I am going to pick a resolution “word” or “phrase” and when I feel it is time, I will choose a new word or phrase. I will write it on my calendar and tape it to my mirror. Here are some words I found to consider.
Breathe Smile more Be still Don’t take things personally Compassion Delight Generosity Gratitude Creativity Willingness Growth Freedom Kindness Health Presence Acceptance Courage Confidence Forgiveness Trust Fun Grace Laughter Love Explore Adventure Gentleness Prayer Joy Heal Clarity Peace Listen.” Julie
