School Makeup Must-Haves

Hello lovelies!

School has officially begun and I can already tell it’s going to be a busy semester, but a good one too, as I’ve seen lots of familiar faces in my classes. Even though it’s only the first week of class, I can already tell that my typical morning routine is definitely going to be taking a hit on time in order to make sure I’m getting enough sleep and still getting out the door on time. Although I feel that last year turned me into a morning person (which you can read all about here), I definitely still enjoy my sleep as much as the next person, even if it means I give up a few extra minutes to get ready. Just because I enjoy my mornings more doesn’t always mean I have time to spare when school really starts moving full-force!

So for morning and non-morning folks alike- I decided to share a few of my must-have makeup products for those busy days when you don’t have time to go through your whole makeup routine.

BB or CC Cream– The first item that I feel is really beneficial for busy mornings is a basic BB or CC cream. The difference between these two is hardly noticeable, and variable greatly amongst different brands. But at the core they both provide a light-medium base coverage with added skin care benefits such as SPF. It will take a little research most likely to find one that’s right for your skin that you like, but once you do, it really is a morning lifesaver. Right now I currently use the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment 12-hour Primer and I find it does a good job of covering most of my redness so I walk out the door looking a little more refreshed than I would without it. If you’re not sure where to start to find one that’s best for you, check out this article here by Allure which outlines the best BB and CC creams based on your skin’s area of focus.

Concealer- The next thing that I reach for is a morning concealer. Now if I have the time I will pop some of this all around my face anywhere that I feel the BB/CC cream didn’t cover well enough and then just quickly blend it in with my fingers. But if I’m in a really big hurry then I’ll definitely make sure I at least dab some under my eyes so I look more awake. One of my favorite concealers for under eye circles is the Josie Maran Creamy Concealer Crayon because I feel it does an amazing job of brightening my eyes up unlike any other concealer I’ve tried, so I would definitely recommend everyone give it a try.

Mascara– Of all the things I never leave the house without putting this one it’s mascara. Mascara is such an easy way to make your eyes look brighter, fuller, and more awake and it takes just seconds to do. My favorite is the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara as it always makes my lashes look extra long and voluptuous. Another great option is the Tarte Lights, Camera Lashes mascara. It doesn’t have quite the same volume as the Too Faced one but it really provides a lot of length and grabs every lash without clumping. Whichever mascara you prefer, it’s definitely a must for mornings on the go.

Lip tint– Lastly I would suggest throwing on a lip tint before walking out the door. I say a lip tint instead of a lipstick because it will still add the much-needed pop of color to your face but it doesn’t need quite the same precision that a lip stick would need. A lip-gloss would also work really well, but I just tend to favor lip tints personally. Any of the Tarte LipSurgence lip cremes work wonders, so those are generally what I reach for, and I have recently been loving it in the shade Wonder, which is a really pretty poppy shade.

Well that’s everything on my must-have list for a morning on the go! I hope this helped some of you create a slightly faster routine for those busy days when you don’t have time to put on a full face of makeup. I know these products have certainly helped me wonders! And if you have any miracle-worker products, be sure to leave a comment!

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Sunday!
