June Ipsy Bag

June Ipsy Bag

It’s been a little bit since I’ve posted an Ipsy review, and that’s mostly because I felt like my May bag was probably the least exciting one I’d received so far, and with the month being so busy already, I didn’t necessarily feel like blogging about it since I wasn’t too impressed with the products I got.

However, I was much happier with everything I received this month and decided to share them on here with you!

The first product I received was the Smashbox Photo Finish primer. I happened to already own a full sized version of this primer, so I was definitely excited to get a smaller, more travel-friendly one in my bag. What I love about this primer is that it’s oil free, which is something that’s super important to me when I’m looking at products since I already have very oily, sensitive skin. And it really does do a great job of creating a smooth base on my skin before I apply foundation.

Next I got the Formula X nail polish in ‘Power Source’. I haven’t ever tried Formula X colors before to know how long they stay on or if they’re prone to chipping, but I can say that I love this cute pinky-peach shade that I got this month and think it’s a perfect color for summer. Hopefully the quality will match up to its cuteness!

My third product was the Selfie Tan ‘n Go face bronzer. Now I usually tan pretty well naturally, and living in a place like California (and now Arizona) where it’s sunny all the time I’ve never felt the need to use a self tanner. However, I love that this one is non-comodogenic as well alcohol, paraben, and fragrance-free so I can use it without having to worry about it irritating my skin so if I ever were going to try one, this would definitely be it.

Fourthly, I received the NYC Liquid Eyeliner in 887 Black. It comes in a pretty well sized tube with a very thin brush and the smooth formula glides on very easily over the eyes. And after about 30 seconds once it had dried there was no smearing at all which I was very impressed with. It’s definitely a product that will be making it into my everyday makeup routine quite often.

Last but not least I got trèstique mini shadow crayon in ‘Venetian Gold’, which was my favorite item in this month’s bag. I’ve been loving shadow crayons lately because they’re so easy to apply in the summer time especially when you’re on the go. And this one is just an absolutely gorgeous gold shimmer that’s perfect for a bright, summery look. It goes on incredibly smoothly to the eyes and was very easy to blend as well. I will definitely have to add a few more of these to my collection.

Needless to say, I really was quite happy with this month’s bag. With the exception that I don’t use face tanner that often, I can confidently say I will regularly use 4 out of the 5 products I received which is pretty great for a subscription full of surprises each month.

If you’ve been considering trying Ipsy, I say definitely give it a trial run! Sure some things can be hit or miss, but there’s something fun about having a bag full of secret goodies arrive in your mailbox every month that makes the whole experience worth it :).

i had no idea that they included NYC stuff in ipsy bags! I love NYC but since I could get it at the drugstores I’d be a little dissapointed if it was in my ipsy bag. Either way NYC is still a pretty good brand. I got the smashbox primer too (and I’ve used it before as well) and the shadow crayon as well
