Big news! As of last Friday, May 15th, I am officially no longer a teenager! And I must say I kicked off my first weekend of my 20’s surrounding by great company.
On Thursday night, a few friends and I decided to see the midnight premiere (which actually occurred at 10pm) of Pitch Perfect 2. I was incredibly impressed with this sequel, as I felt they did a great job of making the plot different yet equally as entertaining as the first without trying to hard with the comedy. If you haven’t gone and seen it yet I’d recommend heading to the theaters some time soon and giving it a go. Friday, on my actual birthday, I had an enjoyably relaxing day that included a bit of shopping at Francesca’s and LUSH followed by an afternoon of pampering with one of my best friends, where we went and got our nails done. Then later that evening I took pleasure in a simple dinner with mine and Quinn’s families at a restaurant called Cheddar’s. On Saturday I was awakened bright and early to attend a movie marathon at the theater where we watched The Age of Adaline and The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Though quite different from each other, I thought both movies were exceptional so next time you’re at the theater if you’re feeling the romantic drama or an action comedy, these are some great options for you. And Sunday I was gifted a phenomenal hot stone massage to help me get rid of all my school stress once and for all and feel relaxed and ready for summer! It was exactly what I needed after all the chaos that the end of the semester brought around, so I was incredibly appreciative of the chance to unwind. To end the weekend I was presented with some lovely presents including new sketch pads and pencils, a matching Vera Bradley purse and wallet, some new LUSH goodies, a few tops, some of my favorite musicals (Chicago!) and comedians (Jeff Dunham) on DVD, and a gift card to the spa.
I am truly thankful for all the wonderful gifts and outings that made my 20th birthday so special! It was a perfect weekend.
