Spring Shopping Bits

Spring Shopping Bits

With spring finally here I feel like there’s just so much more color in the world! The sky is brighter, the grass is greener, and there are bright flowers of all different colors blooming everywhere you look. And with inspiration around every corner, I decided to do a little shopping and get some makeup to match the pretty peach and pink hues of the season. So here’s a look at my recent mini spring makeup haul!

As you can see, I obviously got a little excited about new blushes. The first two I grabbed were the Buxom True Hue blushes and I am in love with both. Firstly the colors are incredibly rich and pigmented, they show up really beautifully on the skin and last nearly all day, which is truly saying something because having oily skin usually means that my makeup doesn’t stay on longer than a couple hours. So I was really impressed that by the end of the day I still had a pretty flush of color present on my cheeks. The shades I got were ‘Temptation’ and ‘Euphoria’ and I will probably end up going back and getting several more of these because I love them that much.

The next thing I grabbed was the Urban Decay Naked Flushed cheek trio in the color Streak. I’ve been using this a lot lately since it’s so convenient to have a blush, bronzer, and highlighter all-in-one and it makes getting ready in the morning so simple!

The last blush I picked up wasn’t the most spring-y color, but it was however my first Mac purchase ever (gasp! I know) so that was exciting! I’m not sure why but I was always under the impression that as far as high-end brands were concerned, Mac cosmetics were on this over-the-top expensive level that I shouldn’t even consider to look at it because it would all be way too expensive. And then I finally went in and realized that it was actually no more expensive than any of the other high-end brands I love to use, like TooFaced or Tarte or Urban Decay. In fact, some of their stuff is even cheaper. Needless to say I was very excited with this realization and thus had to pick up a thing or two. The blush I got was ‘Fleeting Romance’ and I figured it was a nice basic, rosy-red color that would be versatile enough so I could probably use it year-round.

Continuing with my Mac purchase, I also picked up their lipstick ‘Morange’ because I currently don’t own any bright orange lipsticks and I thought it would be fun to try one. I also decided to sample the new Bite lipstick duo in ‘Tangerine/Lingonberry’ since I’ve been hearing a lot about their new products lately. One thing for sure about their lipstick is that it is heavily pigmented; the color you see is the color you get. Unfortunately, one end of my duo broke after only one use which was a bit disappointing. So if you’re curious to give it a try, I’d recommend just spending the extra money and purchasing a regular lipstick because the duo samples don’t seem to be that sturdy.

The last thing I got was a free sample (Thanks to Sephora’s reward card) of Make Up For Ever mascara. While I don’t feel like it coats my top lashes fully enough, I think it does a perfect job of adding just the right amount of product to my bottom lashes, which I usually only add a little bit of mascara to anyway.

Well that’s everything! What new spring products have you been enjoying this month?

Amazing haul, and I love the blushes. I used to be under the assumption as well that MAC was this super costly brand because that’s what most of the more famous bloggers would review. Don’t feel bad. I bought my first MAC product a month ago.

Glad I’m not the only one then! I feel like I’m late on the bandwagon here, but regardless I will definitely be buying more in the future!
