February Favorites

It seems silly to say that February seemed like such a short month, because, well, it is. But regardless it still seems like just yesterday I was looking ahead to my Valentine’s Day plans and now today we’re already 3 days into the month of March. So in lieu of the new month, I decided to do my first ever monthly favorites post! So here is a look at some of my go-to favorites that I have been loving in February :).

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette- I’ve had this palette for some time now but I’ve only really started to heavily use it the past month or two. It includes 14 beautiful neutral colors; half matte and half shimmer, and they’re GORGEOUS. They’re all go on really smoothly, are very easy to blend, and stay on your eyes virtually all day. It also comes with a double-ended brush (one side for matte and one for shimmer), which I really enjoy using for the matte shades. I do find that the shimmer shades can come out really sheer when I use their brush so instead I use one of my Clinique eye brushes and the color comes out much more rich and pigmented. Plus it comes with a huge mirror which makes application on-the-go that much easier :).

KOCO Red-y, Aim, Fire lipstick- I think February is the perfect month to break out all the bright reds and pinks to wear on your lips, and I’ve especially been loving this one! It’s not only highly pigmented but also pretty moisturizing which is a bonus during these colder months when my lips tend to get chapped more often.

ORIGINS Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask- I can’t say enough great things about this mask! I’ve been using it for some time now and it always leaves my skin feeling so clean and refreshed! It feels very cool and tingly on my skin and when I take it off my face looks brighter and my pores are visibly smaller, and any blemishes I have become much smaller and are usually gone the next morning. This is a miracle product for anyone looking to clear up and brighten their complexion!

Tarte Lights, Camera, LASHES Mascara- This mascara is amazing! I can’t swoon over it enough. Initially I wasn’t too keen on trying it because the packaging was a bit odd to me, but as the saying goes, I decided not to judge a book by its cover and I was pleasantly surprised by result! The formula does a great job of separating lashes while extending both length and adding volume. And it builds so easily without clumping your lashes which earned it major bonus points for me. It’s the perfect all-in-one mascara! I even got a deluxe sample size of it so I can take it with my when I travel.

Now onto a few non-beauty favorites!

Bath and Body Works Mini Lavendar Vanilla Candle– I don’t know what it is about miniature things but they can just be so much cuter and appealing than normal sized things, which is why I got this tiny candle to sit on my desk instead of a big one. But despite its cute size, it still manages to fill my room with a very comforting, relaxing scent. I light this whenever I’m about to study as the mix of lavender and vanilla has a nice calming effect and helps me get focused.

Beige Knit Infinity Scarf– I got this scarf on sale and I could not be more happy with my purchase. It’s incredibly soft and warm which has been perfect for the chilly days we’ve had this month. But best of all, it’s literally the most versatile scarf I’ve ever owned- I can pair it with just about any outfit and it matches flawlessly, making it a perfect cold-weather accessory.

VeryJ Brown Leather Jacket– I am in LOVE with this jacket. I picked it up on sale at the beginning of the month and I’ve worn it at least 3 times a week ever since. Again, it’s been pretty chilly here in LA and my normal lightweight jacket hasn’t been doing justice, so I’ve been turning to this instead. As it turns out, leather keeps you incredibly warm and this jacket has proved that marvelously. Not to mention it’s just a super cute and stylish addition to any outfit, and I can’t help but just walk a little taller whenever I wear it because it just makes me feel good :). I think that’s what style is really about: finding clothes that you just can’t help but feel happy in whenever you wear them! Because everyone could use a daily confidence boost :).

Well that’s all of my favorite things for this month! I hope you guys enjoyed it!

Happy March!

Good picks. Staying warm has been a challenge this year and a good scarf does help
keep you warm as does a leather jacket – no wind goes through it!

Oh that makes sense! Haha. I might invest in a black one as well, I am loving leather jackets right now!
