It’s the Little Things

It’s the Little Things

When I tell people I’m in a long-distance relationship they usually make a face and say “Wow that must be really hard.” Thanks, yes it is actually. But so is any relationship that is worth pursuing with your whole heart. Regardless of whether you’re 15 minutes away or 1500 miles away, a relationship is going to require time, energy, and effort if you want it to be a good one. So while long-distance isn’t ideal, I still think it’s incredibly worthwhile if you’re willing to work at it.

And I’m lucky to say that my significant other and I have been working at our relationship for officially two years now :). (Not all of that time has been long-distance mind you.) And despite the fact that we couldn’t be together to celebrate in person, I had the lovely surprise of discovering the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers and a dozen chocolate covered strawberries waiting for me on the morning of our anniversary! When I come home in a week I’m sure we’ll celebrate more properly in person but for now I’ll be here admiring my flowers while snacking on some strawberries.

That is so sweet! Those strawberries look delish 🙂
I love your take on long-distance relationships. If two people really want it to work, then they will go to any length to make sure it does.

They were so delicious! And thank you, sometimes people don’t understand why we do it but all relationships require effort, ours just requires a little different kind of work. But in the process it has made us excellent communicators 🙂 haha.
