One of the many perks of going to the University of Southern California is that at the beginning of every year during awards season, tons of celebrities from both television and movies gather right across the street to enter The Shrine for the Screen Actors Guild awards! Ironically enough, I actually walk on the same street they set the red carpet up on every single day on my way to class. On an average day it’s usually nothing special, but I got to experience first hand the week long process of them preparing the area and bringing in white tents, professional lights, and even fake plants (like whole rows of them!) to make that road more fit for a celebrity instead of just a bunch of college kids boarding to class. And for the second year in a row I got to witness all the nominees stepping out of their sleek black vehicles and begin the walk on the red carpet! If you’re ever in Los Angeles around this time, I definitely recommend coming over to my neck of the woods for this, it’s a pretty great experience!
Now as the celebrities have much more important things to do than stand for our pictures, many of the ones I captured aren’t exactly the clearest as they were usually walking away from us, but if you like Orange is the New Black, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Steve Carell, Jennifer Aniston (her hair covers her face but her fiancé is easier to see), or Matthew McConaughey, then I think you’ll still enjoy a few of the pictures I did manage to snap :).
