So after a few technical difficulties with my memory card (and a mini panic attack after thinking I had lost all the photos) I finally managed to get all the pictures from our New Years cruise uploaded to my computer so I could share them on here! It was incredibly difficult to narrow down the hundreds of photos we took over the week and decide which select few I would actually post but here is the first little set of them! The vacation was such a blast and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end 2014 and begin 2015 than sailing through the Caribbean with all the people I love most :). So I hope you enjoy these few snippets of our adventures over winter break!
We arrived in Florida a few days before our ship was set to sail just in case there were flight delays when we tried to leave Kansas City, as we didn’t want to miss our departure. Luckily though we had no issues and arrived in Cape Canaveral right on time so we got to enjoy a few days relaxing poolside at our resort just a few minutes from the ship port. It had a beautiful pool with a waterfall, a hot tub hidden behind rocks, and gorgeous scenery for laying out and soaking up the sun.
The ship was very elegant and beautiful, it was sometimes easy to forget that we were actually in the middle of the ocean and not just in a luxury hotel somewhere! This photo is just one of the many gorgeous staircases all along the ship. And at the top you can see the blue lit bridge known as the Royal Promenade that led to an array of restaurants and shops on the ship’s main deck.
In one of the dining areas they set up an adorable Christmas display full of gingerbread houses :). I loved the festive touch.
On one of our days at sea I got to take a cupcake decorating class on the ship! And I made this adorable little puppy 🙂 Except he was so cute that I felt bad eating him so he just sat on the desk in our room all week haha.
In Jamaica we walked through the jungle a bit (without getting hit by any almonds haha) until we came to a small cove where we were able to swim with dolphins!
New Year’s Eve we spent on the ship enjoying the multiple parties on board and dancing to all sorts of music. Then we slowed to near the Disney cruise ship where we could enjoy their fireworks (as they’re the only ones allowed to shoot them off over the sea).
In Cozumel, Quinn and I enjoyed an incredibly fun horse back riding experience on horses that were allowed to have a little speed so I was super excited to actually be trotting through the forest instead of the usual slow walking you get on horse tours.
The waters on every single island were so incredibly blue and indescribably gorgeous. I want to go back!
