This past Tuesday I had the privilege of escaping the walls of my small apartment and heading out once more into the big city for the Benefit and Birchbox beauty event in Los Angeles! Upon arrival I was greeted with cupcakes and champagne (though I personally opted for water) in one of the cutest boutiques I’ve ever been in.

The event started with a hands on makeup tutorial that showed how to apply Benefit’s new product They’re Real! push-up eyeliner. Being a gel liner in pen form was definitely a unique design, and though it took some getting used to, once you were comfortable with the pen it was incredibly easy to apply.

After that, we were all treated to a complimentary brow wax. Now I’ve had some unfortunate incidents in the past with waxes where they made it too thin or missed certain areas, however at Benefit they reviewed your eyebrows with you and explained exactly how they should be shaped with your face and got your approval first, so there was no room for dissatisfaction. And it worked, because I was really happy with the results.

Lastly we were each given a makeover by a consultant, which was one of my favorite parts of the night. The nice part was that they asked you what products you personally wanted to test and what your typical style was so that everything they used was something that you could see yourself comfortably using in your own routine. And they also provided tips and tricks for applying each product, which was exceptionally helpful.

Of course I couldn’t leave empty handed, and they made sure we didn’t, as I received in store credit to purchase products I enjoyed throughout the evening and was given a complimentary Birchbox full of some sweet Benefit goodies! So here is a list of everything I left with:

Cheeky Sweet Spot box o’ blushes ($36) and includes:

-Bella Bamba

-Watt’s up

This was probably my favorite purchase of the night (especially since it was covered by the in-store credit!) A normal full-size Benefit blush usually costs around $28 so this kit is a GREAT deal; totally worth the money! It’s especially perfect for anyone wanting to test out a few of their colors to see which is their favorite before investing in one.

Bright! Radiant Skincare 6 piece Intro Kit ($24) and includes:

-Foamingly clean facial wash

-Refined finish facial polish

-Moisture prep toning lotion

-Triple performing facial emulsion (SPF 15)

-Total moisture facial cream

-It’s potent! Eye cream

As someone with oily skin that’s very blemish prone, I’ve been looking for a skin care routine that will handle the blemishes without stripping my skin of its youthful glow from using harsh chemicals. I’ve only just started using it but I can already notice my skin looking brighter and healthier. Plus it’s completely oil and paraben free and allergy tested so it’s safe on sensitive skins.

Complimentary Birchbox with Benefit Products includes:

-Posie balm

-High beam

-The POREfessional

-It’s potent! Eye cream

PLUS   – Emi Jay hair ties

This box was just icing on the cake 🙂 I’ve heard great things about all the products we received, and even tried the POREfessional myself in store so I can account for it’s amazing results, so I’m extremely happy with the samples they gave us!

Though the price of the event may seem a little high, it’s definitely worth the money in my opinion. I had a great time and came home with more products to try than I even know what to do with. I would recommend it to anyone, and definitely plan on going again if they host another event!

Did any of you go to the events here in Los Angeles, or in other cities? What were your thoughts?

I would definitely check into their holiday sets (like the Cheeky Sweet Spot one)! The prices are decent and it’s a great way to try out a few different products at the same time. They have lots of different kits on the website. 🙂
