A few weekends ago my roommates and I decided to take a break from school and spend a day shopping at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. And after a lovely makeover in the makeup department of Macy’s (for once they didn’t cake on the make-up, it actually looked quite natural and good) I couldn’t help but pick up a few new items for my growing beauty collection. Then afterwards we headed to Sephora where I bought a few more gems before my ever-lighter wallet dragged me out of the mall before I could find anything else that I spontaneously decided I needed. So here are my thoughts and opinions about each of them, and I must say I am quite happy with my purchases. 🙂
Josie Maran Argan Black Oil Mascara– Josie Maran was a brand I hadn’t yet tried but it will definitely be one I shop more frequently now. When I applied the mascara it didn’t clump at all, even when I put on multiple coats. It has a pretty unique five-ball brush to make the application even across all lashes. Plus since it’s 91% natural and made with Argan oil, it’s supposed to help your lashes become healthier and grow and won’t pull them out when you take off your makeup. And bonus points, the packaging is completely adorable!
Josie Maran Argan Concealer Crayon– I’ve really been loving this concealer lately, especially when I have to wake up early for class and don’t want to look like a zombie. It covers dark under-eye circles really well and makes your eyes actually seem noticeably brighter; I could tell a real difference. Plus the crayon shape makes application smooth and blending easy, and it feels silky soft when you put it on your skin. And since their makeup is almost 100% natural, it’s perfect for sensitive skin, like mine.
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer– This bronzer is my new go-to, as the beautiful matte color makes my skin look naturally tanned and gives my face the perfect balance of color. And you can actually smell the cocoa powder, so it makes your face smell delicious. 🙂
Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Eyes– Even though it’s for your eyes I actually like to use this BB cream all over my face. It conveniently has a built in brush, and is high-coverage, so a little bit will hide even the worst of blemishes. And it blends in easily so I found that I hardly needed too much makeup on top of it afterwards. The applicator is kind of tricky to get used to, as you have to twist to get just the right amount of product on the brush, but after a few uses it’s easy to get the hang of.
Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial– I was nervous about trying this product because I was afraid it would only agitate my already sensitive skin. However I was really impressed that I woke up with super soft and glowing skin without any extra blemishes at all. The cream is very light and dries quickly, which is good since you apply it right before bed. The smell isn’t my favorite, but it’s not terrible either; as long as you don’t put a ton right under your nose then you likely won’t even notice.
Have you guys tried any of these products? What did you think of them?
